Equipment Management Specialist
Position Overview:
Perform a variety of quality assurance functions in support of a hospital’s equipment management and inventory cycles in the National Capital Region. Utilize logistics software and systems to coordinate transportation, ordering, cataloging, and submissions. Analyze data and apply findings to maintain optimal levels of inventory and equipment. Prepare correspondence related to purchase orders, requisitions, receipts, shipments, and operations of the supply system. Continue professional development to ensure competitiveness as a subject-matter expert in equipment management. Working on-site may be required for this position. Work is primarily sedentary but may require lifting weight/equipment over 45 lbs.
Required Education:
Associate’s degree in management, accounting, or healthcare administration. Requirement can be waived if applicant has prior military medical material course certification.
Required Experience:
3 years of experience in the following areas:
• Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of medical equipment, safety concepts, principles and practices
• Comprehensive knowledge of DoD logistics systems for transportation, ordering, information systems, and submissions
• Process improvement projects
• Data scrubbing and manipulation
• Property procedures for equipment accountability
• Logistics coordination or inventory management
• Microsoft Suite
• Oral, visual, and written communications
Preferred Experience:
5 years of experience, to include the areas listed below:
• Equipment management in a hospital environment
• Defense Medical Logistics Support System (DMLSS)
• Ability to drive a 1.5 ton truck
• Familiarity with Federal Supply Class and Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI) device codes
